Ok, so not home for long...

Blogs are real time. They are like Headline News. One minute you write "home for 10 days", and then the phone rings and they say "pack some extra underwear when you come to Duke Monday". Seems the radiation oncologist has three possible plans, and two of them will result in a few more days at Duke next week. So we are packing for all possibilities, including getting our spacious apartment and just moving in. With apartments in Melbourne, ECU, Duke, and the house in Charlotte, we are living like rock stars. Well, those who forgot to ask for song royalties in their contracts.

Speaking of what's coming up - we got the consent form for Drew's procedure today. You know those forms which you get for an ingrown toenail trimming which say the side effects might include infection, malaria, insanity, and loss of your toe and front teeth. Well, you should see the 11 page consent form for this adventure - imagine the list of health risks for chemo, surgery, radiation, experimental transplants, and finding parking at Duke Hospital! It guarantees a bout of nausea just reading it.

Finally, life reminded us today that, while all our troubles are going on, others are struggling, too. Just last night, someone broke into our car and stole Jordan's ipod. Imagine the poor fellow when he got home to find the ipod he had stolen in the dark of night was turquoise in color and had "I am Woman" as the first song. Talk about a bad day for him....
